Bees will start swarming on the first days of Spring and this swarming of  bees will continue throughout the Spring and remainder of the year here in California where our weather stays mild.  A bee swarm is made up of bees that have split from an existing tribe and are flying together in one mass of bees searching for a location to establish a new hive.  These swarms will intermittently rest in many locations during this journey. Sometimes these stops will be brief, perhaps only a few hours, or, they may stay around for days.  It is most important to keep your distance from a swarm.  While a swarm will not generally attack, if will defend itself against a perceived threat.  I'm sure there is no need to go into details of the injuries which could be sustained if stung by hundreds of angry bees.  If a swarm arrives in your vicinity, and presents a a nuisance or danger, please call upon the expert services of our team for immediate, safe LIVE REMOVAL.

Most of the time a bee colony is discovered after it has established a hive, and begun honey production.  In nature, wild bees will often select the hollow space within a tree's trunk or broken limb.  This enclosed space will offer protection to the colony from the weather and also from predators.  In our more urban neighborhoods and cities, bees will likely select man-made structures or enclosures to establish their  new hive.  We will see bee hives under eaves, siding, behind gutters and under flooring.  Sometimes these bees are discovered by accident, and our customers will notice a few dozen, flying in and out of a tiny hole.  Other times the loud buzzing may be heard from directly outside, or dead bees will begin appearing in unlikely places.  These bee infestations will pose a greater challenge to professional charged with their removal.

Removal of a bee colony and hive from within a structure requires a combination of beekeeping and carpentry skills. Proper removal will involve the opening of the space in order to reach the bees and all of the hive and honeycomb material.  All the bee related contents must be carefully removed, the area must be scrubbed cleaned, treated, and filled before the repairs can be completed.  You will want your property to be restored to it's original condition.  The bee colony inside the space will grow larger everyday it is left there, a large colony may reach 50,000 bees and contain over 100 pounds of wax comb and honey.  This is a significant mess.  Any intrusion into this space while bees are present will pose a significant risk to people and animals near by.  This is absolutely not the time to consider a "do-it-yourself" project.
